Christina makes reading accessible to all

Christina Gabbitas continues her World Book Day UK event, co-hosted by broadcaster Clare Balding.

Award-winning author and poet Christina Gabbitas is continuing her World Book Day celebrations – by helping Blackburn with Darwen primary schools access her books.

Christina is offering Blackburn with Darwen primary schools free access to two books until 4th April on the Fonetti App (a read-along app for schools), with all of her books are soon to be available.

Christina also took part in the Back to School celebration for World Book Day, held by Fonetti, which saw her chat on Zoom with children’s author and famous broadcaster Clare Balding about the joys of reading, story creation and exploring your imagination and experiences.

The live event took place on March 4 2021, and involved primary school children across the UK, who asked questions to the pair and virtually came together to perform a poem.

Christina has also sent her books ‘Mohna Lott’, which teaches children about kindness and understanding, and ‘Believe in the Magic of Blackburn Town Centre’ to all 52 primary schools in Blackburn with Darwen.

As well as this, Christina took part in a full day Google Hangout with St Lukes and St Philips Primary School in Blackburn and even donated a set of books for a competition run by The Mall.
