Business across Blackburn are painting the town red, white and blue as the countdown has begun to one of Blackburn’s biggest street parties. To kick start the celebration, shops, cafes and businesses in Blackburn Town Centre are uniting to help celebrate the triumphant win of the Town Centre of the Year and Winner of Winners Awards in the national Great British High Street Awards.
In the week leading up to the anticipated Great British High Street Party, there will be a host of offers available to shoppers, including mini makeovers from Boots and free jewellery cleaning from Peter Jackson to discounts in Panasonic and Pandora. Also for those who enjoy a brew in the local cafes, there will be offers available too, including a free doughnut with a £3 meal deal at Greggs, Exchange Coffee offers two cream tea/coffees for the price of one and there will be free teas and coffees across the town.
The Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID) initiative will see Winners’ Week offers starting from Saturday 8 July. The street fair takes place on Saturday 15 July, 10am-6pm. Visitors will be able to enjoy replica Formula 1 car and Lewis Hamilton look alike, a pop up bandstand with free entertainment culminating at 5pm with Britain’s Got Talent’s finalist and singing sensation Sarah Ikumu.
