Winner of the Blackburn BID’s feedback competition announced!

The Blackburn BID has presented the winner of the ‘Countryside Comes to Town Feedback Competition’ with a £50 voucher to spend in The Mall Blackburn.

Ribble Valley resident, Angela Ingram, won the incentive after completing the online feedback form about the midsummer festival, which attracted 29,000 thousand extra visitors into the town centre on Saturday, 20 June.

Mrs Ingram attended the Blackburn BID’s festival with her nine-year-old Grandson, Joseph, she said: “It was a total surprise, I wasn’t expecting to be the winner.

“It was raining but that didn’t stop us having a fantastic day. Joseph’s favourite part was the vintage tractors and the pop-up petting farm but my highlight is going to be spending the voucher!”

Popular attractions at the Countryside Comes to Town event included an appearance from CBeebies Mr Bloom, a talking compost heap and creepy crawly handling.

The Blackburn Heritage Festival is the next big event organised by the town’s Business Improvement District. The celebration of Blackburn’s past which features clog dancing, street theatre, Heritage Open Day walks, talks and building tours takes place on Saturday, 12 and Sunday, 13 of September.
