Surprising new landmarks have appeared across Blackburn as part of the innovative ‘Be Surprised’ Christmas campaign.
Visitors can follow a trail of ten 7.5 foot high Christmas towers to the myriad of smaller independent retailers, boutiques and cafes, which are dotted around the town. Each of the colour coded towers point to distinctive shopping areas around Blackburn.
The BID launched the ‘Be Surprised’ Christmas Campaign as a multi-platform marketing message that is being rolled out across the county. Hannah Spurgeon of the duo, The Remedy is featured on the lamppost sized towers after becoming the face of the brand advertising message.
The twenty year old singer from Clitheroe said: “There’s so much going on in Blackburn at the moment and with 2015 looking like an amazing year for the town I’m thrilled to be part of it.”
Visitors are encouraged to navigate Northgate, Re-visit Railway Road, step upto Sudell Cross, find Fleming Square and discover Darwen Street.
Photographer Paul Adams, whose gallery of photos featured on the towers, said: “I enjoyed meeting all of the traders and I was surprised by the sheer number and diversity of the shops on offer.
