It’s time to Spring into Blackburn

Blackburn Business Improvement District are reminding people about the wide range of things to do in Blackburn Town Centre over the Easter Holidays.

Their “Spring into Blackburn” campaign is encouraging families to enjoy a day out in Blackburn with a wide range of activities, shops and growing selection of restaurants.

From ice skating to storytelling and craft sessions to theatre, there are now more reasons than ever to come back and see the difference. With the Easter holidays approaching it’s the perfect time to pay a visit.

The Thornton’s Easter bunny, Harry Hopalot, will be out and about greeting visitors across the town and may even have some Easter surprises to give away from his bunny basket. Look out for Harry on Saturday 1st, 8th and 15th April.

The town centre welcomes back a children’s fun fair from Saturday 8th April and visitors are set to enjoy their favourite children’s book brought to life, when The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show crawls into town on Tuesday 11th April at King George’s Hall.

As well as lots of places to eat, from Blackburn Market’s very own food hall to cafés such as Liz ‘n’ Lils at Sudell Cross and Café Northcote at the Cathedral, new restaurants have recently opened in the town including Caribbean themed Turtle Bay and the ever popular Nando’s.

Harriet Roberts, manager of Blackburn BID said, “The range of family activities going on around the town is incredible this year and we would encourage people to make a real day of it by perhaps visiting the new Leisure Centre or Ten Pin Bowling Centre, taking part in an activity and enjoying a meal too.”

The Spring into Blackburn Leaflets are available from locations across the town including Blackburn Visitor Centre in Blackburn Market and The Mall Ask Me Point. Details of all the events can also be found on the Blackburn BID website (www.blackburnbid.co.uk) and their Facebook Page facebook.com/BlackburnBID.

Blackburn has definitely got a spring in its step this year.
