The Mall Blackburn is partnering with a number of charity initiatives during the season of giving!
From Monday 10th to Monday 24th December volunteers will be wrapping presents in return for donations to The Mall’s charity of the year Theo’s Warriors as well as a whole host of other organisations including the Specsavers campaign for Derian House, Age UK, Kieran’s Angels and North West Air Ambulance.
Theo’s Warriors, which supports children and their family throughout their cancer journey, will also receive a percentage of proceeds from the shopping centre’s magical Santa’s Workshop experience.
The Mall has, once again, been a collection point for the SAMS Christmas Wishes Appeal. Kind-hearted shoppers have been busy donating gifts throughout November and December and SAMS will be delivering them to vulnerable families in Blackburn with Darwen in time for Christmas Day.
In addition, The Mall has been working with staff from The New Walmesley Arms in Great Harwood to help them with their Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
The project was selected as the winner of The Mall’s World Kindness Day competition in November and staff have been collecting much needed items that will be given to homeless people across the local area.
Loraine Jones, General Manager of The Mall Blackburn, said: “During this very busy time of year it is very easy to forget that there are so many people that will, for one reason or another, struggle during the festive season.
“Each year we work with as many local charities as possible to help them raise money or collect gifts to ease the burden on those that find themselves in difficulty.
“As always, our wonderful shoppers have been absolutely amazing and I would like to personally thank everyone that has done something to support all the deserving causes.
“Of course, being kind isn’t just for Christmas time and we look forward announcing the final total of money collected for Theo’s Warriors, and welcoming a brand new charity of the year in 2019!”
The charity gift-wrapping service can be found across from Santa’s Workshop at The Mall’s Ask Me Point in Victoria Court.
