Please find below an update regarding the Coronavirus Financial Support grants.
Firstly, updated guidance issued about the cash grants for both small businesses (RV less than £15K = £10,000 grant) and retail, hospitality and leisure businesses (RV between £15k and £51k = £25,000 grant) confirms that the grants will be issued per property rather than per business. Initially it wasn’t clear which was the case.
The businesses eligible for the cash grants will be getting letters in the next few days, but the letter will direct you to the online form, so to get the process started please complete the online form available here: https://blackburn.gov.uk/coronavirus/business-advice (and click ‘Apply for a grant’)
Please find your last business rates bill before completing the online form as it provides all the crucial information you need – particularly your account number.
To help the process be as quick as possible, please ensure you complete the form correctly and accurately and don’t leave any gaps.
PLEASE NOTE: The Council want to reassure you that the Business Rates team at the Council are working early morning through to late evening to process the financial support and get the money out to businesses as soon as they can.
