Imagining The Super Slow Way Linear Park

Monday 7th March 10.30-3.00pm

Blackburn Youth Zone

Jubilee Street, Blackburn BB1 1EP

The Super Slow Way Linear Park is an ambitious vision that hopes to demonstrate how the Leeds & Liverpool Canal corridor can be developed as a major asset for the communities that live in this part of East Lancashire.

Over the next six months a series of projects and events will give residents living along the 20 mile stretch of canal from Blackburn to Pendle, the opportunity to get involved, try something new and think about how the canal, and the many unused spaces alongside it, could become a great space for us all to use and share.

This is the first of those events, an opportunity to celebrate, champion and collaborate, with partner presentations and a range of activities. Hear from Laurie Peake of Super Slow Way, Home Grown/Home Spun volunteers, Lucy Antal of Feedback Global, artist Rebecca Chesney and more. We know those that live, work or play along the canal know it best, so we invite you to join us to reshape the future of Pennine Lancashire.

A vegetarian lunch will be provided by Bean at The Bureau, with bread from Zafroz Microbakery.

The organisation is also looking for ideas that could happen around the canal and be a part of its future, with between £250 – £1,500 for you to help make something happen.

Attend to find out more or alternatively visit our website

Two further Linear Park events will take place in Hyndburn and Burnley, in May and July.
