Summer Fun Has Begun at Blackburn Youth Zone

As the school summer term comes to an end, an exciting summer holiday programme kicks off at Blackburn Youth Zone, providing hundreds of local young people with opportunities to socialise and take part in action-packed activities all summer long.

Young people from across the borough will have access to a wide variety of recreational activities such as indoor climbing, football, dance, trampolining, gym, art and more 7 days a week for as little as 50p per visit at Blackburn Youth Zone.

Blackburn Youth Zone’s Holiday Club provision will run from 8am till 6pm every weekday throughout summer for 8 to 12 year olds. Holiday Club has an ‘around the world’ theme and is designed to help parents balance work and family commitments, whilst providing children with a fantastic choice of themed activities to get involved in. A full day includes breakfast, lunch and snacks and costs £10 per day or £40 per week.

Alongside the fantastic daytime offer, Blackburn Youth Zone will be open from 6:30pm until late six nights per week. Junior Club, Senior Club and Diversity Club offer young people aged between 8 to 18, and up to 25 with a disability, a wide range of sport and art activities to get involved in each evening with entry just 50p.

As well as a host of engaging activities available within the Youth Zone, outreach staff will be visiting local parks across Blackburn and Darwen throughout summer to deliver a range of fun activities which will be available free of charge to local youngsters.

As if that wasn’t enough, young people will join experienced staff on residential trips including the Anderton Centre in Chorley, Kentmere Residential Centre in the Lake District and overnight barge trips starting from Eanam Wharf.
