Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has made the decision to put a temporary road closure in place along Blakey Moor and the front of King George’s Hall, as a precautionary measure following weather warnings.
All events at King George’s Hall will still be taking place, but traffic will not be able to drive along Blakey Moor (from the former Jubilee pub to the Gladstone statue at the rear of M&S) and the pavement adjacent to the Blakey Moor Terrace is closed to pedestrians.
A parking suspension on Blakey Moor opposite the Victoria Building and on Duke Street will be in place to facilitate taxis / drop-offs / deliveries etc.
We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, but public safety has to be our priority at this time.
The situation will be reviewed over the weekend and the road will be re-opened as soon as possible.
