Film stars from across the decades packed into King George’s Hall to commend retailers from The Mall Blackburn!
The shopping centre’s Annual Retailer Awards brought together the great and good of the big screen as staff took inspiration from the evening’s ‘A Night at The Movies’ theme!
Shoppers voted in their thousands and Best Overall Retailer went to Debenhams, an iconic store that is celebrating 40 years in Blackburn in 2019.
River Island’s recent huge renovation works have been well received by shoppers, who voted it top of the shops for Customer Experience.
Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe had a sweet taste of success after being selected as Best Independent Retailer.
Boots Opticians eyed up the prize for Best Service Provider and Millie’s Cookies had a sugar rush when it was named Best Food and Beverage store.
Primark’s pride in all things safety earned the store the award for Health and Safety Compliance.

Best involvement in the Trade Index was handed to Trespass and staff at Smiggle were delighted after being recognised as the retailer that contributes the most to The Mall’s social media campaigns.
The Body Shop was thanked for its continual commitment to The Mall’s RewardME scheme, Home & Fragrance for its involvement in Mall events and last, but certainly not least, Specsavers walked away with the prize for best involvement in fundraising activity!
Best-dressed awards went to two members of the Costa Coffee Ainsworth Street team with Toni Wilson dressed as Poison Ivy and Bradley Wilding channelling his inner Power Ranger!
Three very special guests also joined the party to represent The Mall’s Charity of the Year. Gareth Mayoh brought his sons Tom, age 10 and Jack who is eight, to share their story on behalf of the East Lancashire Hospice.
The boys have raised more than £20,000 by wearing shorts throughout winter to thank hospice staff for caring for their mum before she passed away last year.
