Retail unit is ‘just the job’ for Bootstrap Enterprises

The Mall Blackburn is supporting Bootstrap Enterprises in its mission to assist people into work and business by donating a retail unit free of charge for the summer.

The not for profit organisation has set up shop for eight weeks selling quality second hand books under the business name Rebound and is taking the opportunity to offer retail training as part of its Job Goal Retail provision.

A wide range of fiction, children’s books, cookery books, self-help books and much more is on offer, with thousands of titles and new stock arriving daily.

Bootstrap works with people seeking employment to offer training and confidence building as well sourcing job opportunities and encouraging applications to vacancies. Interview preparation and CV building are also on offer.

All proceeds raised in the shop will be used to train local people to help them gain paid employment.

Elizabeth Taylor, Chief Executive of Bootstrap Enterprises, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be in The Mall Blackburn!

“The Rebound store will raise vital funds and help people seeking retail employment with on the job training and experience.

“I would urge anyone who is interested in a career in this sector to call 01254 680367 and speak to my colleague Katie for more details.

“Of course, we are also accepting book donations for the shop too!”

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, added: “Bootstrap Enterprises are a fantastic community organisation that help people across East Lancashire into employment.

“We are huge supporters of their various initiatives and offered them the unit to further their work in our exciting sector.

“I am sure they will get a warm welcome from our shoppers and I look forward to seeing the shop buzzing with activity!”
