Change, Grow, Live, (CGL) funded by Blackburn with Darwen Council and supported by Blackburn BID, last year created a new (pilot) role of REACH worker for Blackburn town centre.
The role involves providing support on an outreach basis to those who are vulnerable, sleeping rough, not engaging with any services, and base themselves in and around Blackburn town centre. The aim is to get them to a position where they will receive support to move on with and re-build their lives. After the initial trial, the role has now been made full time and extended for 12 months.
Tylah Pierce, who started in the role has now taken a new position with CGL and Laura Heaven has been appointed as the new REACH Worker. She will be engaging with town centre businesses, particularly where you are experiencing issues or have concerns about anyone who is vulnerable in the town centre.
