Art film reflects loss of social interactions in lockdown

‘Monument 2020’ by Elliott Flanagan – an Art film reflecting on the loss of social interactions in lockdown – will be projected on to the side of Blackburn Town Hall.

In March 2020 Spot On Lancashire commissioned digital artist, Elliott Flanagan to create a short film inspired by Spot On Lancashire’s archive.

Spot On promotes professional performing arts in village halls and libraries and this year, celebrates 25 years of working with community venues in Lancashire.

Elliott’s response to the commission was to create Monument, a short film recognising Spot On’s vital role in bringing people together through shared experiences. The visuals are abstracted from archive photographs and videos of a Spot On show in 2000, along with filmed lockdown walks in Lancashire.

You can read a conversation between Elliott and Debbi Lander, from Lancashire 25, all about him and the background to this film at https://spotonlancashire.co.uk
