Masters of Martial Arts Academy is celebrating the completion of a £50,000 investment in their training facilities in Blackburn town centre.
The not-for-profit sports club has updated its facilities, which now boast a new training room and members’ gym which will benefit communities across Blackburn with Darwen.
Phil Turner, Director and Head Coach at Masters of Martial Arts Academy, said: “The fantastic new extension, named ‘Zenryoku Dojo’, will allow us to work with more local partners and maximise the opportunities we can offer our local community.
“We work with students of all ages to build confidence and life skills, from learning the very beginnings of martial arts, ladies only sessions, 50+ classes, right through to advanced black belt training.”
The academy opened in September 2017 and has just signed a five year extension on its Lord Street lease above McDonalds in Blackburn Town Centre.
Phil added: “This is a very exciting next chapter for the academy and to celebrate, we are holding an open weekend on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September.
Families are invited to come down between 10.30am–2pm to learn more about the classes, see some of the students in action and enjoy a tour of the academy. There will also be prizes on offer and refreshments.
