Mr Bloom super fans are only days away from seeing the man himself at The Mall Blackburn.
The CBeebies character will be in town this Saturday, 25th June, as it comes alive with a whole host of workshops and events at the highly anticipated Countryside Comes to Town festival.
The Mall Blackburn will be home to The Allotment and Vegetable Nanny ‘make and take’ workshops and there have been hundreds of entries to its ‘Meet Mr Bloom’ competition.
Children were given the chance to be one of three to exclusively meet Mr Bloom back stage at The Mall during the festival by designing and describing their very own veggie character.
All entries have been judged by the TV favourite and three little winners will be announced later this week.
Open at 10.00am, 12.00pm and 2.00pm children can say hello to Beverly the downhill-skiing watermelon, Jessica the sweet-potato beauty queen and David the talented little marrow at The Allotment.
The Vegetable Nanny workshop will take place at 10.45am, 12.45pm and 2.45pm where little ones can go along and make their very own vegetable baby.
In addition to taking home their new baby, children can fill in their vegetable baby’s birth certificate, before being awarded a ‘Junior Vegetable Nanny’ pass to decorate and wear all day at the festival.
Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “The Countryside Comes to Town festival is only days away and we are very much looking forward to seeing Blackburn transform into all things countryside once again.
“The Vegetable Nanny workshop sounds particularly fantastic – I can’t wait to see all the vegetable babies our little shoppers will create!”
