Do you have any unwanted or duplicate gifts hidden away in cupboards or drawers? Then please think about donating them to Age UK Blackburn with Darwen.
The local charity is appealing for donations of items that can be used as tombola or raffle prizes as it relies on fundraising activities to support its services for local older people and last year raised hundreds of pounds through tombolas and raffles.
It now urgently needs more new and unused goods to use as prizes – which are vital to the success of the fundraising. So if you have any unwanted gifts then the charity would gratefully receive them.
“We have been lucky enough to have had local people generously support our tombolas with goods, but we now urgently need to stock up,” said Vicky Shepherd, Chief Executive.
“The only thing we ask is that items are unopened and unused for tombola/raffle prizes. We can of course sell used items that are donated in our Darwen Shop, so these are welcome too!”
Items can be donated at Age UK Blackburn with Darwen’s offices, at 4 King Street Blackburn or any of their services or activities. Collection can be arranged for larger amounts or items by ringing 01254 266620.
