Meet Beth Hartland – a beauty expert who has worked in the industry for 15 years.
Beth, 29, the face behind Hartlands House of Beauty & Grooming based in Blackburn town centre, has worked in the beauty industry since leaving school aged 15.
Beth has always worked in Blackburn, starting her career working as a Saturday girl on Blackburn Market at the age of 13.
She said she didn’t want to set up her business anywhere other than Blackburn as it’s “just a wonderful place”. It was only when she was 23 that she had the idea of setting up her own beauty studio.
In December 2015, Hartlands was established – which Beth describes as a good turning point and the next level in her career.
Hartlands offers a variety of treatments from nails, waxing, massages, botox services, spray tans and much more!
A competitive advantage for Beth is where the salon is located – Town Hall Street. It is within walking distance of the bustling town centre making it accessible for anyone looking for an appointment – whether they’re town centre workers or visitors.
Beth said she has a great loyal customer base who are always returning for treatments.
The beauty studio also specialises in a unique one-session treatment called cryotherapy. The treatment uses extremely low temperatures to treat skin lesions like moles and skin tags.
Beth said: ‘’This service has been a popular one with our clients as not many other places offer it in Blackburn and Darwen.
“Cryotherapy is not just for people who want to look better, it’s also for people who have something that has been bothering them for years and want to have it safely removed to feel better.”
And that’s one of Beth’s favourite parts of the job… making people feel better about themselves.
