Over 200 people from across the region took part in the Blackburn Charity Santa Dash today (Sunday 9th December) as part of Blackburn’s BIG Christmas celebrations.
The 5K run, jog or walk attracted people of all ages including families and people from local running groups. Harry Catherall, Chief Executive of Blackburn with Darwen Council, headed the starting line in full Santa suit and hat!
The event, which raised over £2000 for North West Air Ambulance Charity, began in Cathedral Square at the heart of Blackburn’s Christmas Market and followed a route around town from the Town Hall to Darwen Street.
The winner of the race, Colin Jennings, recorded a time of 15 minutes and 48 seconds.
The event was organised by North West Air Ambulance in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackburn BID and Pennine Events.
