There are 2 webinars available for businesses regarding financial support schemes:

  • This webinar provides guidance on the Job Retention Scheme which will help support businesses and employers dealing with the economic impact of COVID-19 – including furloughed workers, scheme eligibility, how to calculate a claim and more. Itwill take place on Wednesday, 12th May.

  • This webinar provides you with information about the Self Employment Income Support Scheme.  Ittakes you through the aim of the scheme, who can apply, how much you may be entitled to, how to claim the fourth grant, and what happens after you have claimed.

Mental Health Awareness Week

This week is mental health awareness week.  As the theme is nature, in partnership with The Mall we are running the ‘Blackburn Rocks’ project, encouraging people to paint and hide a rock with a positive message or image in the town centre.

We are also running a social media campaign of positive quotes related to mental health and nature.

To link in with this I wanted to make you aware of some mental health resources available in Blackburn and wider area.  I’m attaching a summary of Blackburn with Darwen projects, and below is a link to more information about services and resources:

Be Part of the ‘We Offer Testing to our Staff’ scheme

The We Offer Testing to our Staff (WOTTOS) endorsement scheme is a simple and free voluntary promotional scheme for firms who are participating in the government’s free coronavirus (COVID-19) workplace testing programme and offer regular twice weekly testing to their staff.

The scheme showcases those organisations that offer regular testing for their employees through displaying an easily recognisable and NHS Test and Trace branded physical and/or virtual sticker.

For businesses registered and signed up for workplace testing before 12 April, promotional materials are available on the ordering platform where organisations order their NHS Test and Trace workplace tests.

Organisations are able to access these assets following registration of interest in the government’s free workplace testing offer. In addition, physical assets will be subsequently printed by the Department of Health and Social Care (in appropriate quantities) and sent to organisations who are part of the scheme.
