National Firearms Surrender

The national Firearms Surrender takes place from 12–29 May 2022.

Police want to remove as many illegally held or unused guns as possible from across Lancashire to reduce the risk of them falling into the wrong hands.

During the surrender people can hand in:

  • Illegally held or unwanted guns and ammunition, including antique firearms
  • Imitation firearms and air guns
  • Unwanted guns and ammunition
  • Items which you may have inherited from a relative or found and you aren’t sure what they are or what to do with them

This is a surrender and NOT an amnesty.  This is an opportunity for people to dispose of their unwanted or unlicensed firearms at any local station with a staffed front desk.

If you have any information about the possession of an illegal firearm or criminal activity relating to this type of crime call 101 or make a report online here.

You can also anonymously report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.  You can find more information here.
