Festival Highlights at Farewell Celebration

A festival farewell party is being planned for the close of the Blackburn Heritage Festival on Friday, 18 September.

The celebration event, which takes place from 7.30pm – 10pm at the Cathedral Crypt, will bring together partners from across the town for an evening of live music and a Ceilidh by the Union Street band.

Tickets for the farewell party, which will look back at the highlights of this year’s Blackburn Heritage Festival cost £10 with a traditional Lancashire hot pot supper.

Manager of the Blackburn BID, Harriet Roberts, said: “The event will also be an opportunity to thank the businesses, volunteers and organisations for their support in staging the festival and a chance to look back at some of the memorable images from the weekend of 12 & 13 September with a look forward to the next big BID events.”

The Blackburn Heritage Festival, organised by the Blackburn BID, kicks off on Friday, 11 September with a grand concert marking Blackburn and Darwen Band’s 175 years of music making at King Georges Hall.

Other activities taking place over the festival weekend include Victorian fairground attractions and the official opening of Hobkirk’s museum of sewing machines by the BBC Sewing Bee presenter, Patrick Grant.

Tickets are available from the Blackburn BID’s website at www.blackburnbid.co.uk
