A Darwen based pottery and craft studio is expanding into The Mall Blackburn as part of a collaboration to keep kids entertained this summer.
Erin’s Place, which is based on Bridge Street in Darwen, made its Mall debut during the Festival of Making and will be open in the shopping centre every weekend until 21st July. Following this it will be open every day until September 1st.
Activities will include pottery painting, teddy bear making, pebble monsters, finger puppets, slime making, flower fairies and much more!
The shop will also sell a range locally made ‘By Erin’ products and they will be holding adult workshops for people who want to learn how to use Frenchic furniture paint.
Free sessions will be held daily and will cover scratch art, paper plate craft, colouring and much more.
Pottery painting is also available every day with prices starting from just £4.95 and Teddy bear making starts from £10.95.
In addition, daily workshops will be held for little shoppers to make magical wands, slime and flower fairies.
Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “Erin’s Place is a fantastic addition to The Mall and it has already proved very popular with children of all ages.
“It was great to see so many people visiting the shop over the weekend and, as more people find out about it, we expect it to be really busy.”
Owners Nikki and David Roberston launched their first retail venture 18 months ago after they started to make Wish Bracelets.
The products were extremely popular with customers across the UK and beyond and they went on to open a gift shop called By Erin in Darwen.
Just under a year ago they seized the opportunity to rent the premises next door to By Erin and Erin’s Place Pottery & Craft Studio was born.
Nikki is thrilled that they are now extending their reach and is looking forward to meeting new customers.
She said: “We are absolutely delighted to be bringing Erin’s Place to Blackburn and we received an extremely warm welcome during the Festival of Making.
“I would like to thank the team at The Mall for all their help in making this happen and look forward to a fantastic summer of fun!” Erin’s Place can be found in the former Peter Jackson the Jeweller store in Victoria Court in The Mall.
