‘Creative Connections’ for Blackburn students

Blackburn Council’s Arts & Heritage Manager Rebecca Johnson is leading on a project to create 300 ‘Creative Connections’ boxes for year 6 students in Blackburn to support them during the summer and preparing for High School in September.

The boxes will include creative materials and important school stationery, and will be delivered to students from primary schools linked to the town centre who receive free school meals.

The project is funded by Arts Council England and Creative Minds, and The Cardboard Box Company is supplying the amazing boxes which will transform into desks!

I’m hoping you can help support the project.  They are looking for pencils, glue sticks, scissors, erasers, coloured pencils , A4 notebooks, A4 paper and card, 30cm/15cm rulers, rolls of Sellotape, pencil cases, sketch books, pencil sharpeners…  There is funding to pay for the items but they are hoping for discounts on bulk purchases to get the best value for money for the project.

If you can support the project you will be credited as a supporter.

If you can help or would like more information about the project please contact Rebecca at Rebecca.Johnson@blackburn.gov.uk or call 01254 667130.
