Lancashire businesses are invited to a special networking event where they will hear from home-grown celebrity chef Nigel Haworth.
Taking place at Blackburn College’s University Centre on Tuesday 6 December 2016, Mr Haworth will talk to the Hive business network about his journey from Rossendale Catering College to Michelin stardom at the restaurant he owns with business partner Craig Bancroft, Northcote, Langho.
The former Rossendale Catering College lecturer, who recently opened Café Northcote in Blackburn’s Cathedral Quarter, has in recent times become a fixture of television cooking shows, including Saturday Kitchen, Market Kitchen and a winning appearance on Great British Menu.
The networking event will focus on how businesses and education can work together to maximise business growth in Blackburn and Darwen and will hear from a variety of speakers.
Khalid Saifullah, Chairman of the Hive Business Network and Director of Star Tissue, commented: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Nigel Haworth to the next Hive Business Network event.
“Nigel’s Northcote group is a fantastic example of how businesses can link up with education to great success and we are really pleased he will be speaking to our businesses about his experiences.
“There are still a few places left for the event, so please do get in touch if you would like to join us.”
Cllr Phil Riley, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, commented: “This is a great opportunity for businesses in the borough to hear first-hand from Nigel, who through his culinary expertise is now internationally recognised.
“We are proud to be home to several of Nigel’s restaurants in the borough and proud that he has chosen to link with Blackburn College to develop the youth of today into the culinary stars of tomorrow.”
The next Hive Business Leaders’ Network Event will take place on Tuesday 6 December 2016 from 10.30am to 1pm at University Centre, Blackburn College, Blackburn, BB2 1LH. To attend, contact Mark Nelson at firstname.lastname@example.org
