Blackburn’s Cathedral Close is set to transform into a fun-time farm yard for Blackburn BID’s Countryside Comes to Town festival.
Real life goats, dwarf rabbits, ducks and pigs travel from Fishers Farm to join visitors for a hands-on petting experience.
Fishers’ mobile petting farm is an attraction for young and old. Liz Wingham of Fishers Mobile Farm Yard, said: “All-in-all this is an exciting & rewarding experience for the children. Especially those without any previous encounters with farm animals. Our visit will enable children to have lots of hands on experience and to interact with the animals.”
Event organiser for Countryside Comes to Town, Harriet Roberts, said: “We are lucky to have such a wonderful green space in the town centre and to be able to use it for such a fantastic family fun event. Fishers pop up petting farm for children will help bring the Cathedral grounds to life.”
The event in Blackburn town centre, which features live creature handling and street theatre also includes donkey rides for children on the Cathedral Close.
