Blackburn to have extra security this Christmas thanks to the Blackburn BID

The Blackburn Business Improvement District have announced a period of extended security support for key shopping areas of the town.

The annual initiative has been extended this year to give retailers extra support in the busy shopping days running up to Christmas. The extra patrols will cover the Townsmoor area as well as key leisure destinations around Vue Cinema and the TenPin entertainment centre.

Patrols, which will run 6 days a week, will also cover main shopping streets and routes into the town such as Darwen Street and King Street. It is intended that the additional security will extend to 8pm each evening.

Christmas is a vital time for many businesses and the BID are offering this additional support to ensure that the extra visitors to Blackburn’s expanding shopping and leisure areas have a safe and secure time whilst enjoying the town.

Businesses are being urged to read the full Business Plan for 2019 – 2023 which outlines more of our initiatives and achievements as well as laying out plans for five more years of investment. Businesses are reminded that without a majority ‘YES’ vote the BID and all their initiatives will end. Voting for a new term for Blackburn BID ends on 2nd November.
