STAFF at one of Blackburn’s longest established opticians have received a ‘Be Surprised’ award for ‘exceptional customer service’.
Tyrrells and Embery, situated on Darwen Street, were presented with the award for excellent specialist knowledge and outstanding customer service by the Business in Community Healthy High Streets team (BITC).
The Be Surprised Awards scheme, created by the Blackburn BID and backed by the town’s BITC team, which includes Boots and Marks and Spencer, celebrate excellence amongst the area’s business community.
Head Optometrist at Tyrrells and Embery Optometry, Haroon Ahmed, said: “This practice has been established in Blackburn for decades. We have some clients who travel hours to come and see us and some clients who have been attending our practice for over 50 years.
“We understand that they have carefully placed their trust in us as their optician and we take that very seriously. Excellent customer service is considered normal here, but we thank BID for giving us this award as it’s nice to get a pat on the back now and again.”
Tyrrells and Embery Optometry has been taking care of the visual health of the Blackburn community for over 50 years. Over the years, the practice has evolved and remained at the forefront of technology and fashion whilst maintaining the traditional emphasis on quality and service.
Manager of the Blackburn BID, Harriet Roberts, said: “Tyrrells and Embery are one of the amazing specialist independents we want to showcase in the town centre. They offer a great customer experience, knowledge and quality products that people will make the journey to Blackburn for.”
