Blackburn with Darwen Dementia Action Alliance invite people living with dementia, their carers or family members and anyone concerned about dementia to a Dementia Hub event on Thursday 8th February, at the Care Network Hub, Town Hall Street, Blackburn from 1pm – 3pm.
Local charities including Alzheimer’s Society, Age UK, Care Network and more will be on hand to let you know about local social and leisure activities, support groups, navigating health and social care and the gadgets available to help you to stay safe. There’ll also be a talk at 1.30pm on the Dementia Buddy Guardian Angel Emergency contact scheme.
Dr Penny Foulds, who is leading on a cure for Dementia at Lancaster Uni says “Whether you have dementia yourself, or your loved one has, we know there’ll be both challenges and good times ahead. There’s a lot to consider at the many different stages of the condition. We hope the Dementia Hub will offer information and advice on a range of issues to reduce any worries, support you to make the most out of now and help you to plan for the future.
Free biscuits, tea and coffee will be served.
