Blackburn BID’s Annual General Meeting – Get Set for a Second Term

Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID) is holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 27th February 2019 at The University Centre at Blackburn College.

The BID, which began in 2014, has invested over £1.5m into Blackburn town centre and in November 2018, won a resounding “YES” vote from businesses to continue their work for a second term, which will run until 2023.

The AGM will begin with the opportunity to network with key partners in the town centre including the police, Blackburn with Darwen Hive, Blackburn Business Against Crime, the Festival of Making and representatives from Blackburn College and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

Nicola Clayton, Chair of the Blackburn BID, said: “The AGM is a great opportunity for businesses to engage with the BID and its work, as well as the opportunity for us to review our achievements so far. Five years on from the inception of the Blackburn BID, we have won the national Great British High Street Award, multiple Britain in Bloom awards and created an exciting programme of events and marketing initiatives for the businesses in the town.

“We will continue to work under our key themes of Marketing & Promotion, Safe & Secure and Environment to make Blackburn a great place to visit, work and do business.”

The AGM takes place at 4:30pm on Wednesday 27th February 2019 at The University Centre at Blackburn College and you can register to attend on Eventbrite here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/blackburn-business-improvement-district-bid-annual-general-meeting-2019-tickets-56641237466
