Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID)’s campaign to save Christmas from Covid has scooped another award, this time in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride North West Awards 2021.
Announced last night in a thrilling virtual awards evening, the campaign was awarded Silver for its successful use of public relations by a public sector organisation, helping to re-imagine Blackburn Town Centre’s Christmas after months of the strictest coronavirus restrictions.
Celebrated alongside Viva PR, this the second award that the campaign has achieved, after winning the Public Sector PR Award category at the PRCA DARE Awards 2021 (North West) in June.
With the help of Arts Council England National Lottery Project funding, the campaign saw Blackburn Town Hall wrapped in a spectacular digital display of light and sound, appealing to, and engaging with, a wide and diverse audience – which could be enjoyed safely and in line with government restrictions and guidelines.
Blackburn BID were also delighted to be recognised in the Community Relations category and Viva PR were awarded CIPR Small PR Consultancy of the Year (North West).
