An army of Nutcracker king soldiers will descend on Blackburn this weekend as the Blackburn BID launches its Giant Nutcracker Trail for Small Business Saturday.
The prize hunt, which is being organised by Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID), is part of Blackburn’s BIG Christmas. 12 Nutcracker Soldiers have been hidden in local businesses throughout the town and families can pick up Trail clue sheets to help them find the soldiers. The prize trail gives visitors the chance of winning a range of prizes as well as the Nutcracker soldiers too. The Nutcracker Trail is launched this Saturday 3rd December with an event in Blackburn Market, where visitors can pick up their clue sheets and meet walking, talking Nutcracker soldiers and a Sugar Plum Fairy.
Manager of the BID, Harriet Roberts said, “We want families and friends to enjoy the clues and surprises on the Nutcracker trail discover the thriving local businesses Blackburn has to offer across the whole town centre.
“The event follows the massive success of the Giant Easter Egg Hunt earlier in the year and it is a great way to show our support for independent businesses on Small Business Saturday.”
Small Business Saturday is a national event, which encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their own community.
To join the hunt just pick up entry forms from across the town or simply download it from the Big Christmas website at www.blackburnchristmas.com. The hunt runs for two weeks right through until Sunday 18th December.
The first winner drawn will receive a £100 Christmas shopping voucher for The Mall as well as Nutcracker soldier. There are also £20 vouchers and Nutcrackers for eleven runners-up! The competition begins on Saturday 3rd December 2016 and ends at 9 am on Monday 21st December 2016.
