Blackburn BID give the nod to National Bed Month

Blackburn BID businesses are getting behind National Bed Month this March with a series of promotions, discounts and added extras.

National Bed Month is designed to remind consumers of the importance of a good night’s sleep. The annual promotion, which started in 1990, is The Sleep Council’s longest-standing awareness campaign.

Sales Manager at Edmondsons, Paul Howson, said: “To run along-side National bed month we are currently promoting our Blue Cross Event storewide which includes our bed department.  We will also be offering fantastic discounts for people to get a great deal on the perfect bed for them.”

Experts say that on average people spend a third of their life asleep and a good night’s sleep is important for the body to stay healthy.

Paul added: “Those who are sleeping on an old mattress or the wrong choice of bed for them, can visit our store and get the correct advice from trained salespeople.

The Bed Centre based on Darwen Street stocks a range of beddings, frames and memory foam mattresses. Owner, Gary Davies, said: “One of the great things about using a small independent retailer are the high levels of customer service and added extras such as free local delivery.”

BID manager Harriet Roberts said: “Darwen Street, Blackburn is a great place for independent sleep specialists who are able to offer advice on what has to be one of life’s most important purchases.”
