The finalists have been announced for the Blackburn with Darwen Hive Business Awards.
The awards, which are in their third year, will be presented at a ceremony at King George’s Hall on Wednesday 10th May 2017.
Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID) are finalists in the “The Buzz Award” for their programme of events in Blackburn Town Centre, along with the Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival, Fusion and King George’s Hall.
Harriet Roberts, manager of the Blackburn BID, said: “We are thrilled to be finalists in The Buzz Award category at this year’s Hive awards. We won this category last year for the “Countryside Comes to Town” Festival which saw 75,000 people come to Blackburn in June 2015 and in 2016 it attracted a record breaking 86,000 people to the town centre.
“It’s fantastic to see so many other Blackburn BID businesses in the finals too and we are pleased that the Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival, which we supported, has also been recognised. This event grew into a Festival of national significance and attracted visitors and coach trips from across the UK.”
Other BID area businesses in the finals include: The Mall Blackburn, Tyrrells and Embery, Square Cactus, Age UK Blackburn with Darwen, Personalising Freedom CIC, Watson Ramsbottom, Community Clothing, Exchange Coffee Company, Blackburn College, Taylors and Peter Jackson Jewellers.
