Changes to National lockdown restrictions

The Government has today updated the detailed guidance around businesses which can and cannot open under the new National Lockdown restrictions (it previously referred to the impact of Tiers on restrictions).

The Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced in the House of Commons that there will be an extension of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (Furlough) to March and Self Employment Income Support will be increased.

Businesses that can remain open during lockdown

Local authority discretionary grants update

Further to yesterday’s update on the criteria for eligibility to apply for the local authority discretionary grants, it appears that the criteria stating that businesses which pay rates are ineligible has now been removed, and it is understood Blackburn with Darwen Council has updated their application criteria in line with it.
