Big Bank Bike Riders Fuel Up In Blackburn

Cyclists taking part in ‘The Big Bike Ride’ from London to Edinburgh stopped off in the heart of the Blackburn Business Improve District for a coffee at Liz ‘n’ Lil’s.

Staff from Future Williams & Glyn Team Staff are cycling more than 700km over seven days.

The charity bike ride stretching more than 450 miles, began in London on Saturday, June 6 and has so far raised £22,000 for Crisis, a national homeless charity. RBS branches across the country are joining in with ‘The Big Bike Ride’ using stationary exercise bikes to match the daily mileage of the cyclists.

Rob Hawkins, Managing Director at Just Pedal, the organisation managing the corporate ride spoke with representatives from the Blackburn BID, he said: “Blackburn is a great place to come not just as a cyclist but with your family. We will continue our journey to raise more money for an amazing charity and to promote health and well-being in the work place.”
