Members of the public, stall holders, shoppers and those from outside of Blackburn have an opportunity to find out why Blackburn won the Great British High Street Awards when they BID stage their annual meeting at the University Centre, Blackburn College next week.
Representatives from the Council, police, college, town centre businesses and key stakeholders will look back at the achievements of the Blackburn BID over the last 12 months and announce our plans for the year ahead.
There will be some short constitutional formalities which are part of the AGM including the election of the Executive BID board. There will also be some inspiring testimonials from some of Blackburn’s newest businesses including David Wilcock who has recently opened Hugo Burrito on Blackburn Market and Craig Bancroft from the Michelin starred Northcote Group who have opened Cafe Northcote in Cathedral Quarter.
Blackburn BID Manager, Harriet Roberts said, ‘You will be able to pick up a copy of our annual review and hear from key partners who played a part in the being crowned champions in the Great British High Street Awards.’
The event takes place at the University Centre at Blackburn College on Tuesday 21 February from 5.30pm with a light buffet being served from 4.30pm.

16:30 Buffet & Networking in the Atrium. This will be an opportunity to meet face-to-face with stakeholders from across the town centre. There will be information stands for new projects including the Teenage Market, Festival of Making, Blackburn Business Against Crime and view an exhibition of paintings of the Cathedral Quarter development by local artist, Catherine Hargreaves.
