The Blackburn BID business breakfasts return to Liz ‘n’ Lil’s this week and every first Thursday of the month from 7.30am for traders and business managers to come together to discuss how investment by the BID can help the town centre to revive and thrive. The subject for discussion on Thursday 8th May will be tackling anti-social behaviour, crime, vandalism and security in the town centre with a presentation by Ronnie O’Keefe of Blackburn Businesses against Crime who works as Security Manager for The Mall.
Chairman of the BIackburn BID, Mark Smith of Exchange Coffee explains, ‘The BID will invest £60k a year in making our town centre a safer, more secure place for people to shop and work. A negative perception of safety can deter some visitors from visiting the area and new businesses from locating in the town.’
