Age UK Blackburn with Darwen are appealing for befriending volunteers to support and visit older people in their local community.
They require volunteers who are patient, caring and understanding of the issues facing older people, are good listeners and excellent communicators. Volunteers will be required to visit older people including those living with dementia in their homes and in some cases help them to continue to attend activities
Vicky Shepherd, Chief Executive, said: “We currently have over 110 volunteers helping us and their assistance is invaluable. The need for our services continues to increase, so we are looking to recruit more volunteers to continue to provide an all-round service.”
