Blackburn BID are encouraging local businesses to celebrate the next generation of business leaders by entering the 2016 Young ‘Uns Awards.
The awards are back for 2016 to honour the most impressive, innovative and inspiring individuals and businesses in the county for those aged 36 and under.
Organised by Lancashire Business View magazine and backed by BAE Systems, Young ’Uns Awards will honour Lancashire’s young business stars across a range of categories at a ceremony held at The Spanish Ballroom at Winter Gardens Blackpool on October 20.
Young business professionals and business owners are now being urged to get their nominations in by the deadline of September 2. Employers in Lancashire are also being encouraged to nominate their star employees.
From legal eagles to digital dynamos and red-hot retailers, there are 12 categories in total to ensure that anyone making waves in their industry has chance to have their story heard. Following validation and pre-scoring by the judging panel, finalists will be announced on September 12.
The four finalists for each category will then meet the judges for interviews on September 22 with the ceremony taking place on October 20.
Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View, said: “The Young ’Uns idea began as a popular feature in our magazine, profiling the sharpest business minds aged 36 and under. Eventually, we had so many fantastic stories that it became obvious we needed to honour them properly.
“The Young ‘Uns are the next generation of Lancashire’s business leaders and we urge them to nominate themselves. We also urge employers to nominate their star staff members.
“We have added the interview stage to our judging process this year and looking forward to meeting finalists and celebrating their achievements.”
The awards is also supported by Peter Scott Printers, Winter Gardens Blackpool and media partner Square Cactus.
Nominations can be made by completing the online entry forms here before September 2. The finalists will be announced on September 12 before the awards night itself on October 20.
