Hi, I just wanted to add to Lisa’s answers as Blackburn BID Manager. Now is a really important time to utilise the support available from groups such as Blackburn BID, the Hive business network, the East Lancs Chamber of Commerce and others. It will depend on your location as to which you can be a member of, but business support groups have been working hard (and with each other) through lockdown and into recovery to support their members, including providing information and guidance, help with finding financial support, support with re-opening safely, and promoting businesses and safety measures. Members of business groups have been supporting their fellow businesses too, with providing expert advice (like this forum), good practice advice, and working together to reopen safely.

Annie, the other benefit to being a BID member is that if you share anything on social media and tag in the BID - whether that's on Facebook, twitter or Instagram - they'll share it too to help amplify that message and reach even more people.

Hi Annie, it's true what they say about strength in numbers. Being part of the Blackburn town centre BID or other business/community group is a great way to share best practice and lessons learnt. It could be the difference between making the same mistake a peer has made, or learning for their experiences.
I know that Blackburn BID for example is providing posters for businesses, support with Safety Ambassadors, sending out regular updates that simplifies the constant updates from the Governments and is providing support to those who need it.
Having worked with the BID since last summer, I know the team behind it genuinely wants Blackburn and its businesses to succeed - and that involved helping you to open your doors again.
I hope that helps and hopefully reassures you that you're not on your own during these challenging times.
