Another Event-ful year for Blackburn planned!

Outdoor Street Fairs are set to transform Blackburn in 2017 as part of plans announced by Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID).

The four street fairs will feature a range of traders from arts and crafts to some exciting street food. It follows the successful launch of the BIG Christmas Street Fair in 2016, which attracted thousands of visitors to the town.

The “Blackburn Street Fairs” will include high quality entertainment and music too.

The BID have been working closely with the regeneration team at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council to deliver a programme of activities to attract visitors for the past three years.  The marketing and events plan for 2017 will include a range of new initiatives, including a “Spring into Blackburn” marketing campaign to highlight everything available in the town for visiting families over the Easter school holidays.

Blackburn BID Manager, Harriet Roberts explains, ‘We’re keen to capitalise on our win in the Great British High Street Awards and we are using the £10,000 prize money to invest in event infrastructure which will allow us to animate the spaces in the town centre to drive footfall.’

‘The Christmas street fair was really popular and brought new people into town. We are now looking for stall holders and street food sellers to take part in these seasonal trader fairs.’

Bookings are now open for stall holders to book pitches for the events which will include entertainment and fairground rides. Interested traders can register on the Event Owl website eventowl.co.uk
