You’ll no longer need to take a tumble down a rabbit hole to have afternoon tea with the Mad Hatter.
Mad Hatter’s Cupcakes and Tearoom on Town Hall Street in Blackburn, offers a unique and vintage experience based on the classic Lewis Carroll novel, Alice in Wonderland.
Serving a variety of sweet temptations, including colourful cupcakes, delicious light bites and fresh toasties, with vegetarian and gluten free options, the quaint teashop will make you happily late for any important date.
Mad Hatter’s is run by husband and wife, Phil and Claire Ingham, who also own The Refreshment Bar on Northgate. The couple wanted to be a part of Blackburn’s regeneration project and support the town’s future.
“We wanted to help put Blackburn back on the map as a thriving hub of commerce and activity and this was the perfect opportunity.” Claire said.
“We are extremely pleased with our progress since opening in August, and hope the town will continue to support us.”
Mad Hatters also offers afternoon tea parties for children’s birthdays, baby showers and social events in a purpose-built occasion room. Little faces will grin like the Cheshire Cat at the “Drink me!” hot chocolate served in quirky teapots and charming jars of “Eat Me!” sweets.
Take a peep through the looking glass and see what this little gem has to offer. You’ll be mad as a Hatter to miss it!
Mad Hatter’s Cupcakes and Tearoom is open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am – 4.00pm, and 5.00pm on Saturdays.
