Blackburn’s well-known independent study centre for children has relocated to a new home in the town centre.
Kumon outgrew its previous premises prompting a move to Richmond Terrace, which is close to Northgate and King William Street.
Ruth McNulty, Instructor at the Blackburn based study centre, said, ‘Kumon was doing well in a temporary location but I wanted to offer more days, hours and be more professional.
I have two new receptions at the new venue and I also have all my stock, marketing materials and the students’ work in one place, so we are much more efficient.’
The centre, which has been in the town for over 15 years runs maths and English study programmes for students of all ages and abilities. Ruth explains, ‘Over 100 students attend every week in different combinations of days and times. Every child has a timeslot which is the same every week to ensure we have enough staff, space and time to give to that student.’
Kumon will be holding an open day at their new premises on January 31 from 2.00pm until 5.30pm. Call 01254 916190 or email blackburncentral@kumoncentre.co.uk for more information.
