One of Blackburn’s finest historical buildings and heritage sites has enticed the newest, cutting edge hair, beauty and aesthetics salon to the town centre.
Chrysalis Woman, recently opened in the iconic Grade II listed Waterloo Pavilions Building on Church Street, offering luxury beauty and relaxation treatments for women.
Salon owner, Nicola viewed a number of potential business properties but was captured by the building, which boasts plenty of space and character.
Speaking to the Blackburn Improvement District she said: “With its sleek, contemporary appearance it is clear that a lot of thought and dedication has gone in to the design. That’s what attracted us to the building.
“There was an awful lot of work to do when I secured the premises. The salon has now been fully refurbished whilst maintaining the building’s traditional features.”
The women’s only salon, offers an array of services including, anti-wrinkle injections, skin peels, eyelash extensions, tinting and waxing services, manicures, pedicures, professional blow drying, hair re-styling and colouring.
For industry expert, Nicola, whose work has appeared in London’s West End and OK Magazine, it is a dream that she has made a reality.
The ultimate beauty experience starts from the moment customers walk through the door with a glass of prosecco or a refreshing beverage. Nicola, who has over 25 years’ experience in the industry, said: “The aim was to create the ultimate beauty experience for all customers with a bright, clean, relaxing environment. Some customers choose to spend half a day in the salon, which doubles up as a ‘mini-spa’ with a range of treatments on offer and a light lunch available upon request.”
Chrysalis Woman has been furnished to the highest of standards with bespoke made furniture specifically designed for the salon including a massage Pedicure chair and heated massage tables.
Nicola, said: “The salon has been designed with privacy in mind for those who wish to have their hair styled in their own personal space. Also, the entire professional retail product range we have on-sale has been tried and tested by all members of staff as we would not stock any products that do not work.
“Chrysalis Woman provide a number of specialist aesthetic services unique to the town centre. However, all of the prices are affordable and in-line with other salons around the town.”
The town centre location means Chrysalis Woman is easy to find. Based in the heart of Blackburn’s Business Improvement District, it is located a short walk away from Blackburn’s modern railway station, bus station and taxi services and in the heart of the town’s multi-million pound Cathedral Quarter development.
