24 Laundromat officially opens in Blackburn

24 Laundromat’s launch event was held on Saturday, with the Deputy Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Councillor Pat McFall, officially opening the new launderette.  The Blackburn launderette is 24 Laundromat’s first business location in the UK and the pilot project has been supported by Blackburn council throughout its development.

The laundromat has also received direct support from the council offices and their introductions to external service providers.  The support of the Deputy Mayor, in attending the launch event, was greatly appreciated and valued by 24 Laundromat.

With a launch offer of 100 free washes, the laundromat was busy with new and returning customers. The launch event also saw many members of the public arriving at the launderette to learn more and enjoy the refreshments available on the day.

The fully self-service, card payment only launderette is a new concept to the UK. Customers only need to bring their washing, as allergy tested and unscented detergent is automatically added to the modern washers.

The launderette boasts a number of washer sizes, the largest taking up to two double duvets.  There is also a specific washer for machine washable rugs and pet beds.

Available washing programmes range from delicate to down items and tumble dryers and drying lockers complete the launderette visit.

The launderette, within Blackburn’s Morrisons supermarket, washes makes doing your washing quick, convenient and safe. Laundry can be done whilst shopping for groceries, during the same long opening hours as the supermarket.

The key target of the launch event was to get people to know about 24 Laundromat and to find out how easy, fast and convenient it is to use the services. When listening to customer at the event, 24 Laundromat say they achieved their target.

24 Laundromat look forward to seeing a growing number of people choosing the better way to do their laundry.
