New Blackburn Martial Academy kicks off with successful Open Day

A new marital arts academy has opened a brand-new town centre dojo and welcomed existing and new students to a weekend of open day events.

The new community based Academy on Lord Street, above McDonald’s, offers lessons and training to children from aged 4 and also has lessons for adults and has women only classes too.

Organisers, Steve Nightingale and Phil Turner, who have years of experience in teaching children from across East Lancashire formed a Community Interest Company for the new Masters of Martial Arts Academy.

Phil said, “We are very excited that this new centre in Blackburn has now opened. We still have a lot of work to do, but the main areas are open for classes and the feedback from hundreds of visitors over the Open Weekend has been fantastic.

“This new location will make it easy for as many people as possible to reach us and we are thrilled to be bringing something new to Blackburn town centre.”

Steve added, “All exercise is good but martial arts training provides a safe, guided program to improve all aspects of a person’s well being, as well as stretch ourselves by learning new skills, regardless of age or gender”

Children and families have already signed up to the range of classes available and people who want to find out more are encouraged to visit their Facebook page facebook.com/MastersOfMartialArtsBlackburn/
